Name

An Evening with Three Dance Trailblazers

Description

On May 21, Carolina Performing Arts will digitally premiere three new dance works by trailblazing artists who have made an indelible impact on the CPA community: Bobbi Jene Smith (Batsheva Dance Company), Hope Boykin (Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater), and Shamel Pitts (TRIBE, Batsheva Dance Company).

This virtual event features the world premieres of new dance pieces created by these artists and commissioned by CPA, interspersed with conversation on process, performance, and the road ahead.

The daring works ask provocative questions about surrender and submission; vulnerability, race, and gender; and the uncharted terrain of new parenthood.

Registration for this event closes at 12 PM EDT on May 21, 2021. Recording of this event is not permitted. The recording will be available on-demand for all ticketholders for 72 hours from the time of the performance.

Suggested ticket donation (per household) is $15. Tickets available starting at $0.
